Known for its rugged coastline, charming villages and abundant wineries
and vineyards, Mendocino County is a haven for adventurers and romantics alike.
With nearly 20 state parks and reserves, the region tempts visitors to enjoy the
natural magnificence of the area while hiking, fishing or whale watching. Hendy
Woods State Park, located northwest of Boonville,
is an ideal place for camping, hiking, swimming and canoeing. Wineries are plentiful
in Mendocino County and both tours and tastings are popular. Dozens of wineries
are located around the towns of Philo,
Boonville, Ukiah and Hopland.

Train invites visitors to ride from the centers of Fort
Bragg on the coast to Willits,
located in Interior Mendocino.
The train travels through redwood forests and meadows and offers a genuine look
at the region’s splendor. Romantics enjoy the oceanfront bed and breakfasts and
bistros in the villages of Mendocino
and Elk.
